If you have systems based on ratings and rankings then on the odd occasion non runners can change the selections. On wednesday in one of our races the favourite was withdrawn just before the off which makes things difficult. In that particular case there was no way to check in time if system selections had changed. Which incidentally they did. Happily there was an extra selection and it duly lost and fortunately I saved my money. Sometimes it can be misfortunate as the unknown qualifier romps home and leaves you feeling a bit gutted quite frankly.
Today there was a late non runner flagged up which I spotted well in advance of the 5.00 at Lingfield. Two runners were duly added to the selections and I'm pleased to say there was a winner for the system from the extra selections and at a very nice price too. At the off it was 12/1 sp but I'd managed to bag 17.32 - Bonus!!
