The Month Just Went Into Loss

One of the reasons why I advocate a 400 point bank is for exactly this kind of situation. Since the high point mid month there has been a slide now of 116 points which has put paid to this month's profit to level stakes. The highest silde I've seen was just over 200 points so that kind of puts things into perspective. One extra-long-shot winner could still reverse the whole of that loss, although looking unlikely, it's still possible by month end. Finger's crossed.

Sabre dance seems appropriate given the recent knife edge.

Oh dear. The worst week in a long time. Saturday turned up blank and Sunday was ahead thanks to a 40/1 winner @ betfair sp. The damage is thus:

<= 30 bfsp £50/point: -£2,788.00 > 30 bfsp £25/point: -£789.75 so on the year now that's a grand total of: +£7,532.75 and a big ouch is felt there.

Gotta put it behind and move on.

A nice winner yesterday at 20/1 on betfair but it wasn't enough on the day. So a point dropped. Elsewhere on a private forum a fellow systemite racked up his 100th point of the month. A great achievement and well deserved.

System Performance April 13th to Apr 19th

A fantastic day on saturday followed by a not so fantastic blank day on Sunday. Even so I can confirm a wonderful end to the week and 50+ points banked.

Here's how it stacks up in terms of the revised staking plan mentioned at the beginning of the week (£50 a point @ <=BfSp30) and (£25 a point @ BfSp >30).

Now then, I make it -26.35 x £50 = -£1317.50 for the former and +78.88 x £25 = +£1,972.00
for the latter and an overall profit of £654.00 for the week. Not bad at all.

Year to date that settles out to an overall profit now of £10,456.00 + £654.00 =£11,110.50. Marvellous!

In points terms, year to date is now +434.48

The £10k barrier is well and truly broken. A big day yesterday with just one winner. But what a winner @33/1 sp or @ Betfair sp 75!! O.k. I'll calm down now! A profit on the day of 35 points and year to date 418.24 points @ 1 point level stakes after commission. Therefore @ £25 a point £10,456.00 is the result.

So then: An increase in stakes for any qualifer @ BFSP of <=30.00 to £50 a point and for qualifiers @ BFSP of >30.00 stakes remain the same at £25 a point.

System Performance Apr 6th to April 12th

Yesterday could have come to a sticky end if it wasn't for Stormhoek in the lucky last so at least the week ended on a high.

On the week a decent profit was made hurrah! 37.69 points after removing the dreaded betfair tax. At the staking level of £25 a point it's a little over +£942.00 for the week. Nice!

Moving on to the Year to date totals and it's still just short of the £10k mark @ 383 points profit translated to +£9,573.50 and a grin factor of 10/10.

The flat turf season is about to kick off in earnest and I really hope to clear the £10k barrier this week. Today would be nice! Ha ha....

Something I'd forgotten.

It seems I've missed something important from yesterday. The bank topped 400 points for the first time before dropping back to just below that magical line. My £10,000 profit target was also breached before falling back. If this keeps up over the next few days then the staking calculation will change. I've decided to double the stakes on the lower priced selections to £50 a point, whilst keeping the higher priced selections at £25 per point.

Once the £10,000 profit target is officially reached it will mean the bank will stand at £20,000 and should be able to comfortably absorb the higher staking on the lower priced qualifiers. I hope that makes sense to anyone reading. For now though I shall carry on at the original staking levels till the £10,000 plateau is properly breached.

The new stakes will apply to qualifiers under a Betfair Sp of 30 and anything over this line will be calculated at the normal rate.

A day of complete booming and boom de booom booom boom! 2 winners on the blog and a whopping 35 points in the bag for the day. On the premium service 4 winners took the honours!! The punter's lounge thread that was started at the end of November 2008 has now cleared a landmark 300 points to 1 point level stakes!! Holy carp! Lol. The beers are on me....

A Clean Sheet

There are days when a clean sheet means the complete opposite in one sport than it does in another. So, not a huge disappointment but most of Monday's gain is wiped out. System Performance Mar 30th to April 5th

Not much to crow about from Saturday with one decent priced winner which didn't stave off a small loss. A loss yesterday with a blank day.

On to the week then: Despite the sideways end to the week a tidy sum has been racked up over the past 7 says I'm very happy to say. Long may it continue this week. The total was in fact 45.7 points after deducting tax and betfair insurance. So then at £25 a point pop I make that + £1142.50 on the week and a definite pimm's o'clock don't you?

So onto the yearly total and with 345.26 points in the bag it's a very nice + £8631.50. Yum! Don't forget to try out the premium service (see the link below this post).

System Performance Mar '09 YTD

Well despite all the set-backs, surprises and yahoo moments March '09 has firmly landed in the profit zone. 115 points to 1 point level stakes by my reckoning which on the face of it isn't too shabby but by system performance standards could still improve by a country mile.

February was a (slight) loss maker but overall year to date till Mar 31st there's a profit of 342 points and a wide smile on the fizzog.

Here's how things stack up to £25 level stakes for March minus ye olde betfair tax @ 5%: + £2,873.95 and now year to date: + £8,543.50. The £10,000 mark is getting a lot closer.
