Results to Betfair SP

I've put up the first few selections early today so that I can be a good dad. I'm taking my 8 year old and her best friend to see BOLT at the cinema and I have a good idea that I might be late back before racing starts. I thought it best to put this post up now (8.30 am) well in advance so I have one less task to do when arriving home. All I'll have to do now is edit this post. As soon as I've removed the non runners I'll be able to quick edit where necessary. I hope this movie is good otherwise I'm going to be very bored.

Edit: 13:40 the movie was cool ha ha. I've now put the rest of the selections up. Let's have a couple of "bolt -ins".

Glad you liked the film! Very interesting blog, and well done on some good results, will be watching with interest.

I also have a blog going which I've just started if you're interested. I also go for decent odds (but 4-1 or more) and am in the middle of pretty horrible run at the moment but like you say you just have to be patient and have confidence in the long term (which I do!!). It's http://winningafortune.blogspot.com. I'm hoping the name won't set me up for a fall! Am convinced there's money to be made at this game, and am always surprised when people just time and time again pile at short odds when there's such value around - it just needs to be found! Cheers and good luck.

Thank you Mr. Days. I did read your blog and am also interested in market movers. It would be interesting to know how much data you have and to which time period it relates to? Are you following all codes? Handicaps/non handicaps?

As regards shorties and value then yes I think it's extremely difficult to find. If you read this post back http://thedailyjolly.blogspot.com/2009/02/1st-2nd-3rd-4th.html and read down to the yearly comparisons you'll notice the huge gulf between finding extra value at the exchanges and taking industry SP. Of interest is the profit made this year of 99 points at the exchanges vs the measley 16 points at the bookies. A lot of the time BF sp can be exceeded too which makes it even more profitable.

The majority of punters seem to be fixated on high strike rates and low losing runs which leaves the backdoor open for the value backers and the shortie layers.

I shall keep an interest in your progress and if you would like to exchange blogroll links I would be happy to.

Cheers, James.

Cheers James, I've added your blog to my newly aquired blogroll (bit of a novice at this blogging lark!) and would be really pleased if you could do the same for mine.

I follow moves for all types of racing, except the all-weather, which I've found to be unprofitable, and have results back to the end of 2003. I've previously been hampered by a need to take money out of any blossoming bankroll for other things, and so have never really managed to get on and win big money. Am determined this time to leave the bank well alone and see what happens. Horribly ironic though that the blog starts in the midst of one of the worst runs for a while. Typical!

Cheers
